People don't judge authenticity

Instructor development

Most new instructors believe they have to look calm, confident, and completely in control. That pressure creates the exact thing they’re trying to avoid. Panic. When people think they have to perform perfection, every small mistake feels catastrophic.

But when someone simply names what’s happening — nervousness, a blank moment, needing a pause — the dynamic in the room changes immediately. People don’t judge authenticity. They respond to it. The best instructors aren’t the ones who appear flawless. They’re the ones who are real enough that people trust them.

And trust is what makes learning possible.
